SUMMER JOBS SERVICE

The Summer Jobs Service Program offered through TRACKS Employment Services, provides students with job search support and jobs during the summer months. The program is available from April to September up to a maximum of 16 week. SJS assists students to find summer employment by providing relevant resources and information.

TRACKS Employment Services supports summer employment for students by providing:

  • Students with information, knowledge and skills to find a job on their own
  •  Support for students to access jobs that provide a rewarding work experience
  • Job search workshops that inform students about the workplace and employers’ rules and expectations, including workplace health and safety
  • Employers with access to students who are ready and willing to work in the summer; and
  • Employers with a $2.00 per hour hiring incentive to hire youth in the summer

The Summer Jobs program connects employers to a coordinator to assist them with advertising open positions, applying for the program, and submitting required paperwork. The program also assists students who are looking for meaningful summer employment by connecting them to open job postings, help with resumes and applications, and other employment service needs.
